Installing GNATS

Hi There:

When I type "make install" for my GNATS installation I get the following error:

/bin/sh ./../mkinstalldirs /usr/local/share/gnats
chown gnats /usr/local/share/gnats
/bin/sh /home/gmccague/3.112/install-sh -c -m 644 gnats.el 
/usr/local/share/emacs/site-lisp/gnats.el
test -f gnats.elc && /bin/sh /home/gmccague/3.112/install-sh -c -m 644 
gnats.elc /usr/local/share/emacs/site-lisp/gnats.elc
make[1]: *** [install-tools-arch-indep] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/gmccague/3.112/gnats'
make: *** [install-gnats] Error 2

I updated my emacs but that did not appear to work.

Does anyone have a suggestion?
