I'm not sure I understand what you're asking.
I do have a bug open regarding joining partial threads, at
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88948:
you can do this right now, by clicking on "match new headers only"
and setting Filter|Show Only Matching Articles -- but there seems
to be a bug with the threading... so I'm going to hijack this bug
report and address that problem. :)
If I have a three-article thread:
(1) A
(2) Re: A
(3) Re: A
And all articles are new, then I read article (2) and hit the
filter settings as described above, then (2) is hidden and
(1) and (3) are shown ... fine ... except (3) is not added as
a child to (1); it is its own top-level article.
...which I've fixed for 0.14.0, to keep threads from breaking when
ignored articles are hidden.
However, if this isn't what you're talking about, then could you give
an example?
