Hi,
I use tramp-2.0.45 (the one bundled with CVS Emacs). I can open files on
remote machines with the ssh method.
But when I make C-x C-f /su::/some/file I am prompted for a password. I
type my root password, but when I press return Emacs hangs and does
nothing. The minibuffer still displays "password: ..........#" where #
is the prompt.
The only thing I can do is C-g.
What can I do? Does the /su: method require a special configuration,
maybe even of non-emacs tools?
Thanks in advance,
Tassilo
