I think you are right on that, as people tend to stickk with the
version of a package tha comes with their emacs. Tramp is in emacs
21.4 & up. Fedora Cores 1 & 2 use 21.3. FC 3 is in test release now,
and I don't know which version it uses.

Works for me. All I can report on is Fedora, so maybe those who use
other Linux distrubutions can comment on theirs. Oh, spelling:
"useful".
