So this is an OS problem? I thought it was an Emacs problem when I saw
process-send-string in process.c. Do you have an clue how this happens
on other OS? Maybe I can submit a bug report to the FreeBSD community.
BTW, the sum methord of tramp

used to work well on FreeBSD 4.x. (forgot the Emacs version. The
latest one at that time). I have no 4.x FreeBSD for test now...
