I have tried compiling tlf on debian with gcc-4.0.
It crashes in readctydata () all the time. Cannot find a crashpoint in
this function however. gdb returns:

0x00000000 in ?? ()

So I am guessing it is some kind of memeory allocation problem. Maybe I
can find a solution.
