Everything is possible. But if I look at the internet this problem is
reported a lot with a lot of different programs.
Unfortunately I got the same error on 1 of my test installations. As a
lot of strange things where tested on this installation I thought it
was corrupt, formatted it and reinstalled the same MSWindows version.
Now everything works fine.
Things I found/conclude:
- I lost the possibility to see/check the problem myself
- there is not a problem in PSPP itself, the problem is in the
combination of a specific MSWindows installation and PSPP (for
MSWindows)
- on the internet I read several suggestions this error ins in
coonection with different dll versions on the same machine
My conclusion is that my new toolchain is slightly different from the
old one and now hits the MSWindows problem. The msys shell probably
hides the MSWindows problem...
I will generate several test versions and ask for users who have this
problem to try them. I hope this will give me some insight in the
problem.
Have fun
