[Pan-devel] automatic download

I'd like to help out with the feature to download articles without
starting up the gui, as that would be really usefull for me.
Has any work been done on this?
Could someone give me some pointers on how to approach it?
(Do we do it with options on the command line or actually have a different
tool that links to the /base libraries, etc...)
