Surprising. Most projects refuse the patches not for master. But here
is opposite. Anyway, I'll provide patches for 1.4 and 1.6 as soon as
ready.

Ok. once I would like to apply my patches to master branch as well if
possible.

No problem. I've assigned already with the FSF for autoconf, automake,
and libtool. However should I assign again with a paper ? It takes too
a long time. If possible, I want to avoid that.
