Hello all interested in the M16C GNU toolchain,
thanks for the bunch of postings to the list in the last few days (and the
personal mails, of course). Yes, the project is still alive and somewhat
breathing, however, progress is quite slow at the moment as other duties
of mine request more time (yes, sometimes I have to do some real work for
food and rent, unfortunately ;-). Interest is certainly still there (I
have at least two non-trivial applications in the queue), but time is so
scarce...
When I created this project I had in mind that some other developers might
find this an interesting effort and would join eventually. Although there
are now 17 members on the list these days (so interest is definitely
there), I am still working alone on the port. If you find this less than
satisfactory, feel free to jump on.
Probably on tuesday I will commit my current development version to CVS,
in order to enable you to assess the situation. The assembler port is
still missing many codes and variants, and I would very much appreciate
some help on the linker. In my personal opinion, I would guess that the
assembler and linker should be in a useful state before we start working
on gcc, but if you disagree, this can be done concurrently. Please contact
me if you need write access to CVS or anything else.
Hoping that this could stimulate some activity again.
Ciao,
Manuel
