'I am running lynx version 2.9.0dev.9 on a ThinkPad x220 under
OpenBSD 7.0 I notice that when accessing the Washington Post web site
https://www/washingtonpost.com lynx responds with:
'HTTP request sent; waiting for response
'and then takes several seconds to load.'
In 2018 January I noticed:
'Beginning 19 January lynx can't browse any subdirectory of
http://www.washingtonpost.com/. If I try to browse
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/ , for example, lynx switches
automatically to its home page.'
and figured out it turned out to be having 'lynx' in the user-agent
header; 'Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115
Firefox/3.6 lynx'
had been mine for years; I changed the lynx to l_y_n_x and solved that
problem.
links seems faster. I started links with:
links -http.extra-header lynx
which slowed it down.
