First line support is generally done in a de-skilled way, using scripts, 
and I find I can usually handle the simple cases, that the scripts 
cover, without seeking support, so it is frustrating trying to reach a 
skilled, second line support, person.

However, if you are going to convince someone to change policies, you 
need to do so in terms of their business model, which makes it very 
difficult for Lynx users.  Most sites which aren't themselves 
advertising, are basically there to sell third party advertising, and 
any browser that allows access to editorial content without providing 
easy access to the advertising is likely to be discouraged.

Lynx also gets bundled in with Curl and wget, as being used download for 
offline reading, and worse, archiving of content, or even worse to strip 
the editorial from the advertising, or worse still to then republish 
that material.  From questions on this list I know that several Lynx 
users go at least as far as preparing advert free offline feeds for 
themselves.

I think it is possible that the primary purpose of the site that started 
this thread is actually to provide the CEO addresses, but they include a 
lot of advertising, as well as asking for donations, and they take steps 
to make it difficult to republish the information to protect their 
ability to, at least, fund the site.
