lynx-dev lost format

I visit www.ppgi.com/dancers.htm. Below are two results. 

Immediately below is the column format that is viewable when using Lynx
ver 2.7 (very appealing). The second is the jumble that is viewable when
using Lynx 2.8.1. What is it about the later Lynx version that causes the
column format to break down?
