probably, that site is down for some reason:
try lynx http://www.ft.com/ or lynx http://www.washingtonpost.com/ ,
both well-known (English) newspapers, which should be available;
that will simply get Lynx started, then you can go where you want.
you can also try lynx http://. (yes, `.'),
which will start with your current directory, if your system allows that.

probably not: if you still have a problem after trying the above,
tell us again, with as much detail about your system & software as you can,
including the version of Lynx (latest is 2-8-1).
