I believe I should have a compiler this is a server that is used to
compile programs for our classes here at the University.

it's looking for a compiler - solaris doesn't come with a bundled compiler
(Sun charges for it). It's possible to get binaries for gcc - I'm not
sure where, but if you ask on lynx-dev, someone should know.
