Hello Jani,
I am the author of the Lout syntax highlighting file for Vim.

I avoided that by defining a region for the Lout keywords. It begins
with the character '@' and spreads till whitespaces or curly braces
appear in the following character sequence.
Only for the structuring keywords, like e.g. @Begin, @Book,
@EndSections, or some special words like includes, tags, and equations I
a have defined seperate keywords. Some of them defining a so called
region, which ends with a closing curly brace.
Take a look at the lout.vim file, that comes with Vim, or download it
from www.vim.org. If you have any questions, you can ask me directly via
email.
Greetings,
Christian
