You could start by improving the SVG converter, or even writing a
standalone dwg2dxf converter (there are several free/libre dxf libraries
out there you could use). That would make you comfortable with the API.
Then you can dig the source code.

Currently, as libredwg's reading core is almost done but still very
buggy, you could try decoding as much files as you can and look for
segfaults.
