[Info-mtools] Regression in mcopy batch mode since 4.0.28

Hello,

I've been investigating a regression in `mcopy` introduced in 4.0.28 
release (specifically in revision 547 "Fix various compiler warnings").

The issue is demonstrated by the testcase attached - expected output is 
included in the testcase.

I have realised that it only occurs in batch mode. We are using 
`genimage` which has worked around the issue by avoiding batch mode - 
see <https://github.com/pengutronix/genimage/pull/151>. So this issue is 
not blocking anything.

I hope the report is useful anyway. And thanks for your effort 
maintaining mtools!
