Hi,
Alright, I here is a floppy written by Japanese Windows 98, bip2'ed
and base64-encode'd. It contains a file saved under several names.

kterm
An ls in the kterm shows the file names exactly as in Windows. I have
pasted it here, but I don't know what it will look like in your mail
client.
$ ls /floppy/

An emacs started from there shows the file like Notepad in Windows:
これは例文です
$ od /floppy/example.txt

You may need to put
ja_JP.EUC-JP EUC-JP
into /etc/local.gen and run locale-gen and/or install some fonts.
Cheers,
Marco
