Before you head for the download, this time it's rather important to read the
changes to the dependencies first:
* GTK 2.0 or higher is supported and GTK 1.2 is no longer supported
(hence if you want to use gnunet-gtk, you must have GTK 2.0 or higher).
* gcry (the crypto code that used to be in the GNUnet tar-ball) is gone,
hence libgcrypt (1.2.0 or higher) or OpenSSL is now required
* the GMP (GNU Multiple Precision) library (tested with 4.0.0 or higher)
is now required
* GNU gettext support was added to most of the code
(please contribute translations via the GNU translation project,
http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/translation/HTML/index.html)
Considering the magnitude of the changes, minor build problems on platforms
that were not tested are to be expected. Please report if you have any
trouble building 0.6.4 (and please include the output of contrib/report.sh in
your bug report!)
On the feature side, the only truely significant change is improved support
for namespaces. GNUnet is now able to communicate namespace descriptions and
other meta-data provided by the creator of the namespace. Users can search
for namespaces by keyword and obtain an entry point into the namespace from
the advertisement. The new features should also make it easier to advertise
and find namespaces within GNUnet. The new namespace support still comes
with some glitches, for example you can only set the namespace advertisement
at the time where the namespace is created. Also, the namespace can only be
advertised under one keyword at this time. Nevertheless this should make
namespaces much more useful.
As usual, you can download 0.6.4 from http://ovmj.org/GNUnet/download.php3.
Oh, and 0.6.4 is protocol-compatible with 0.6.3a (except for namespace
advertisements which just won't be displayed), so if you have trouble getting
the new dependencies to work, 0.6.3a clients will continue to work with peers
running 0.6.4.
