Please help me!

Dear help-make,
  I am new to the GNU community and trying to jump on the bandwagon of 
open-source software. I am not a member of GNU but had downloaded some 
software from GNU onto my linux box. Some of them works well. Now I am 
trying to build my own glibc, but Make gave me errors. I re-read README, 
INSTALL, FAQ that came with the Make tar-ball over and over, and repeated 
the instructions again and again. The same old cursed errors linger.
  Alright, what should I do in order to help you guys to help myself?
  I saw mailing lists on Make homepage. Seriously, I do not know how 
exactly mailing-list work. Should I just mail my questions or something? 
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
