The new  introduction in  the documentation is  almost fine.
It misses the explanation that the challenge:

can be generated by GSASL and the response:

amFzIDBkZDRkODZkMDVjNjI4ODRkYzc3OTcwODE4ZGI5MGY3

can be  generated by  GSASL.  Without this  it is  not clear
what GSASL does.
