OK thanks to a link to a different set of themes from Jordan on IRC I can now get a theme to display and can attempt to boot from it.I just cannot get any theme to work. I can get to a graphical font text menu, and I can display a background image from the theme at grub prompt with:- background_image /boot/themes/proto/bg.png but nothing more. I am using a recent trunk build of grub2-1.99 and letting grub2-mkconfig produce the grub.cfg. My /boot/grub2/grub.cfg and /etc/default/grub and the theme.txt are here:- http://barjac.pastebin.com/sRJRF1pw The theme I am trying to test with is one I downloaded in a theme pack. Video card is nvidia FX5600u. I must be missing something. Barry _______________________________________________ Help-grub mailing list address@hidden http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/help-grub
However, the boot fails with a complete hang of the graphics just prior to log-in. I can't get to a tty, the only way out is CTRL/ALT/DEL which by the sound of the drive activity does an orderly reboot.
Removing the lines "set gfxpayload=keep" can sometimes fix this, but grub2-mkconfig always replaces these lines.
What's the solution ?
