Even if you don't have networking setup, you should at least have a
/etc/hosts file with the line:
127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain
in it. Also, it appears that you didn't install gstep-base as root, or
perhaps for some other reason the /etc/services file does not have:
gdomap 538/tcp # GNUstep distributed
objects
gdomap 538/udp # GNUstep distributed
objects
in it. But that is not that big a problem, although the gdomap progrram
itself, must be installed as root.
