you are using package python-glpk from Ubuntu Lucid which is the same as in
Debian Squeeze.
The meta information on the package python-glpk can be found at
http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/python-glpk
or for Debian at
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/python/python-glpk
The package name for Python is glpk.
A minimalistic program is:
import glpk;
glpk.glp_version();
This should show the GLPK version number.
The examples for package python-glpk are installed in
/usr/share/doc/python-glpk/examples
Best regards
