Patch fixed and applied. Feel free to modify website or any doc to remove statements of dependencies to freetype and add ones to SDL_ttf version 2.
SDL_ttf.c is the only C file, isn't it? In that case, you can remove C compiler stuff from the build system. Finally there is no longer a need for setting both CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS. Martin
