Hello!
There seems to be a problem with the use of the current release (4.6.0)
under cygwin. For reasons not completely known, the build produces
binaries that can abort with a runtime error ("nursery too small)".
This is likely to be caused by some problem with loading units from
the runtime-library and failing symbol-resolution and which only
happens in .c files generated by older chicken releases. Since
4.6.0 was created with 4.5.0 binaries, the 4.6.0 release tarball
will not work correctly on cygwin. Please consider using the
4.6.1 development snapshot instead, which is available here:
http://code.call-cc.org/dev-snapshots/2010/09/14/chicken-4.6.1.tar.gz
Sorry for this incovenience, but the problem was only discovered
while the release process was already rolling.
cheers,
felix
