The latest make from master (same as 4.3.90) builds dtc-1.6.1
successfully for me with the same options as listed in the log file
here
https://build.opensuse.org/public/build/Base:System/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/x86_64/dtc/_log.
In the same log file there are some references of wtmp and utmp
failing due to a read-only file system. i guess, the file system where
the build is attempted is read-write?
