And sorry for even more noise, but it turns out not to be a BSD
make issue, but problems with mksh, and dash and other ash
variants, the problem of the latter also can be seen with GNU
make.  I just wanted to say this in public, after the above.
(It just happened due to the environment of my user account that
the bug does not show up on Linux with GNU make until now.)
