As I mentioned before, I'm not interested in adding lots of new
options. Instead I want to implement one comprehensive option where you
can specify exactly what types of output you want generated and which
you don't.

I don't think this is a good idea; verbosity and debugging should be
distinct. If people want both they can easily do so by using the proper
arguments.
