Is there any update on fixing this? Arch Linux currently cannot rebuild m4.
I've actually tried cloning from git master and running bootstrap. First
it fails due to cloning with --depth and not being able to find the
commit in gitmodules, then trying to use the latest master results in an
error:
configure.ac:57: installing 'build-aux/missing'
tests/gnu/Makefile.am:55: error: required file 'm4/gnu/alloca.c' not found
parallel-tests: installing 'build-aux/test-driver'
autoreconf: automake failed with exit status: 1
Not really sure how to fix this properly :/
Paul, if you have a patch to fix this, could you post it so that
downstream can use it while we wait for it to be merged to m4.git?
