copy fails under LINUX (and IRIX)

Hi:

We`ve successfully used cfengine in a Solaris environment. Now, we are
trying to integrate Linux boxes into our current setup using cfengine (ver
1.5.4).

The following line works on Solaris but not on Linux boxes (or IRIX boxes):

        any::
                       $(source)/template/common/ dest=/ ignore=RCS
recurse=inf type=ctime linktype=copy force=$(forcecopy)
=

It comes up with the following error message:

        Checking copy from localhost:/fs/net/etc/cfengine/template/common/ to /
        DEBUG: TRAVLINKS=0,ip->linktype=n
        cfengine:mars: Traversing directory links during copy is too dangerous,
pruned
=

This seems to be coming from the function RecursiveImage in image.c portion
of cfengine.

Can someone point me to a solution?
