> Bash would not set this to any value, since it doesn't install anything > that would use it. To set it is to apply policy. What I meant to say is that I as the user can set it globally on my bash initialization script so that I can always make use of the new feature. If the act of setting it changes source's behavior, I am prevented from doing that since it could break scripts.
