Sorry, I meant to write `C-h k TAB', but that probably won't return
anything useful if we are dealing with a prefix command.

These functions have been out of business for years. You must be
using an ancient version of AUCTeX.

My guess is that you are using Outline mode or Outline Minor mode.
Does it get better if you disable such mode, in case you are using it?
