If you put
(autoload 'LaTeX-math-mode "latex")
into your init file, you can toggle the mode with `M-x LaTeX-math-mode
RET'. If you want to have it enabled automatically, you can add
(LaTeX-math-mode 1)
to the mode hook of your Python mode.
